Together Forever

As a famous comedian once said, “I love being married. It’s so great to find that one person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.” And no truer words have ever been spoken, especially when it comes to the couple of Denice and Sherwin who lovingly “annoy” each other every single day. And for the couple who got married in a small ceremony at the beautiful Beach House Restaurant on Kauai, they say they wouldn’t have it any other way.

This short film encapsulates Denice and Sherwin’s 2-week Hawaii wedding adventure filled with family, friends, and a whole lot of love. Sit back, relax, grab a Mai Tai, and enjoy this one of a kind visual journey.

In Case You Didn’t Know

Driving down the road in Maui with the top down in the convertible listening to this amazing cover song called “In Case You Didn't Know” by Maoli on Native 92.5 for the very first time was the inspiration for this sunset cruise video. This short film features my beautiful wife, Denice, but is truly dedicated to all of the amazing wives out there just in case they didn’t know.

Be Our Guest

Magic Kingdom, a special place “where dreams come true.” From spinning teacups, to rocking roller coasters, to fantastic fireworks, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida has it all. It’s the perfect playground for young and old alike. As you watch this short film, we invite you to “be our guest...be our guest...be our guest!”

Spending the holidays with your loved one in a beautiful, snowy, fantasylike, winter wonderland is exactly what we did on our first Christmas together as a married couple! As newlyweds, we hit the powder filled slopes of beautiful Breckenridge & Keystone, Colorado, while staying at the Abbett Placer Inn in downtown Breck. Come snowmobiling, skiing, and sightseeing with us as you watch this short film peppered with some good ol' fashioned silliness.

As Long As We’re Together

“You have to choose joy, you have to choose love, and you have to choose to be happy every single day.” Those are the encouraging words spoken by Sherry Partain when describing what helped her get through the life challenging disease of Breast Cancer.

In this film, you will hear how a husband’s love is a wife’s saving grace and how Sherry’s daughter, Emily, was by her mother’s side every step of the way.

Sherry’s story, about how a situation like this affects the whole family and not just the person with the disease, is something that every family that has ever wrestled with the emotions that come with cancer can relate to.

Filmed with a Sony Alpha a7S II, Canon EF 85mm f/1.8, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II, Sony FE 28mm f/2, Metabones T Smart Adapter Mark IV and DS1 Beholder Gimbal.

Across The Sea

In June 2015, Denice Menard and Sherwin Laranga, along with their family and friends, descended upon the Hawaiian islands for a cruise, a wedding, and some rest and relaxation.

This wedding trailer will showcase Denice and Sherwin’s wedding, held at the Beach House restaurant on Kauai, where loved ones gathered together to celebrate. It will take you on a week long Norwegian Cruise where you will visit all of the Hawaiian islands. You will take in the sights at Akaka Falls, watch the sunrise from 10,000 feet above sea level, and take an amazing bike ride down the side of Mt. Haleakala. You will roam the island of Kauai where you will step aboard a helicopter, go ziplining, experience a luau, and be mesmerized by a rainbow along the Na Pali Coast.

Sea Of Love

For him, it was love at first sight. For her, she couldn't imagine life without him. This short film takes you on a heartfelt journey of how Jean and Reba Menard met and fell in love over 50 years ago.

Jean remembers, like it was yesterday, picking up Reba in his hot rod red and white convertible and knowing that “he had met the one.” Through this story, you will be carried away by a romance that has stood the test of time. You ride along in their souped-up golf car, and watch as they cheers a beautiful sunset and dance under the stars, just as they have done so many times during their five decades together.

Living In The Moment

This film shares memories that took place in the span of one week seen through my eyes. It is about a journey where all worries were put away in order to experience pure happiness, human connection and love. Everything was captured from the many corners of the island on the latter half of July 2013. The Big Island is such a majestic place and marks my first time in Hawaii.

The music is Living In The Moment by Jason Mraz. It is such a wonderful song and the perfect soundtrack for this film.

Blondes Have More Fun

DML at NAB 2016 in LV! In this short film, you will walk the floor and have some fun with Denice Menard Laranga at the National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas, Nevada. My Heart, My Love

On May 16, 2015, the spectacular Santa Barbara Zoo was transformed into the perfect place for Liezelle and Andre’s fairy tale wedding. It was a magical moment filled with family, friends, celebration and love. A love that started for Liezelle and Andre at UC Santa Barbara in 2009 with several shots, a slap on the booty and a cheesy pick up line. Something the couple still laughs about to this day. In October 2013, Liezelle and Andre got engaged on a beautiful evening under the Maui stars. And, as the couple often says, “the rest is history.”

Renee Galente & Eric Ganci

Renee Galente joined forces with her husband, Eric Ganci, to form the powerhouse firm of Galente Ganci, APC, in 2011. Managing a thriving practice has proved immensely rewarding for this husband and wife team, both professionally and personally. Renee says that one of the many rewards is getting to help people who’ve been hurt. Eric echoes that opinion and adds that another reward of owning your own firm is the freedom to be your own boss, knowing that he and wife Renee can do things the way they want.

In this video, you will get a feel for how this power couple balances the business of work and play.

No Cure for Love

The Likes of Us song No Cure for Love is the perfect pairing to go with this perfect couple, Bob and Mary.

Mary and Bob Simon’s wedding day celebration took place in the beautiful backyard of his daughter Nicole’s home. Surrounded by their children, grandchildren, family and friends on October 25, 2014 the couple said “I Do”.

As you watch the video, you will hear from both the bride and groom about the unique way they met and fell in love. Stories like these are always lovely to hear.

Summer Wind

Catalina Island is the place to be if you want to film in breathtaking locations and sceneries. The unique town of Avalon encompasses a world of beauty for being located on such a small island.

Everything is amazing, from the boat ride over on the Catalina Express to the margaritas and Mexican food at Mi Casita to watching the taffy pull at Lloyd's of Avalon.

Catalina Island is the perfect place to simply stroll around or to grab a golf cart and take a ride through the winding roads and just take it all in.

Michael Bublé’s version of Sinatra’s Summer Wind sets the mood and the tone for this fun, fabulous weekend.

Love Like This

My cousin Jenny Lynn married Elvis Saenphansiri on July 6, 2014 and I was there to capture it all. From the bride preparation to the vows at the wedding ceremony to the cutting of the cake at the reception and the father/daughter dance to dinner, drinks and dancing the night away. Capturing moments of my family and close friends celebrating was definitely a labor of love.

While shooting this video, I made a new friend. Charissa Magno shot some very beautiful photos of the day.

The Reunion

Capturing moments of my fiancée and her high school friends at the Brandon High School reunion on St. Pete Beach was a blast. It’s always fun to see longtime friends reconnect and pick up like they were still hanging out in high school.

It was really humid but St. Pete Beach’s gorgeous water and views made it all worth it. Denice and I had to make sure we did some fun water activities. We had a grand old time.

So Santa

The holidays are such a special time and spending a day at The Del makes the holidays seem even more spectacular.

I was inspired by the Dave Barnes song So Santa because it made me want to film people ice skating, drinking hot toddies and taking photos by the Christmas tree, which is exactly what I did in December 2014 at the iconic Hotel Del Coronado in Coronado, California.

At the beginning of the video you will meet my lovely fiancée, Denice, as she takes in a California Christmas on the beach at sunset, as we often do here in sunny California.

Shot with a Panasonic GH4 and Dog Schidt Optiks FF58 + FF38. Timelapses were shot with a Canon 5D Mark III and Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 DX-II.

The song Finish Line by Derek Clegg helped me shape this video. After shooting random moments throughout the day at Torrey Pines, California, I got home and during the editing process noticed the theme of people walking and running almost as if they were heading towards a finish line.

The entire film is shot in slow motion in an effort to capture the individual moments of each person. Almost as if we are peering in.

Shot with a Canon C100 and Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II.

Some Kind of Wonderful

If you have never been to The Villages, Florida then you are missing out! It is a “retirement community” where every day is Saturday and every hour is Happy Hour. Each year in June, my fiancée and I visit her parents Reba and Jean at The Villages where we ride around in golf carts, go people watching at the Lake Sumter Square and sip some sake at VKI Japanese Steakhouse.
As you watch this video, you will experience Reba’s surprise birthday party, check out some fancy dancing, and watch the flames fly high as the chef at the Steakhouse puts on a show and serves up some seriously good food.

This video is intended to put a smile on your face. Based on Pharrell William’s hit song Happy, this music video starred one of the happiest people I know, Ms. Patty Ramert. It’s not often that all of the girls get together, but when they do, this happens! A party on the bus breaks out!

A trip to Temecula turned into one of the best days ever as a group of girls celebrated birthdays and good friends visiting from out of town.

All I can say is this party bus will never be the same.

One Friday Afternoon

Aaah, the things you can do when you leave work early on a Friday afternoon. Capturing kites fly across the sky, boats sail across the water and a girl drinking a Bloody Mary are just a few of things that you can do.

This video tells the story, if you watch closely, of a girl as she enjoys an easy, relaxing afternoon taking in the beauty along the bay and the sites along the Embarcadero in Downtown San Diego.

Shot on Friday, May 24, 2013 with a Canon 5D Mark III with the Magic Lantern raw video firmware hack, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L and Komputerbay 64GB 1000X CF card.

In The Midst

I consider this video to be a moving postcard. As I stood along the shore of Coronado looking across the water into Downtown San Diego, I became almost hypnotized. This is the reason why I chose this song In The Midst performed by Benj Heard of The Likes of Us. His voice is calm and soothing like the waves you hear and the images you see.

There is so much beauty in San Diego. Sometimes all you have to do is go out and shoot for no real reason at all.

Heather Rosso – Jewelry Maker

Following your passion is what Heather Rosso’s jewelry making video is all about. Heather has, what she calls, “a day job” but she is figuring out a way to make her passion of jewelry work for her. While watching the video, you get a sense of the calm and serenity that comes over Heather as she handcrafts one-of-a-kind pieces made with love and made for loved ones.

See Heather’s work.

Eric Bernsen – Military Veteran and Lawyer

As part of an Alumni Video Series that I shoot for the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Military Veteran Eric Bernsen was featured.

Eric is a former Navy pilot and a current boat owner. So, for that reason, we decided to take this shoot out onto the high seas, well actually, out onto San Diego Bay.

The interview took place on the dock where Eric gave advice to potential law students about what it took for him to make the transition from military life into law school.

Randy Grossman – Sports Agent and Attorney

What a great day to take in a ballgame at Petco Park in Downtown San Diego. And so we did. Go Padres!

Randy Grossman is a prominent figure in his field and has represented such greats as Tim Raines, Steve Garvey and Dave Winfield. Randy is featured in the Alumni Video Series that I shoot for the Thomas Jefferson School of Law because he is well respected, gives great advice and is an overall cool guy.

Kim Carter – Mom and Lawyer

Kim Carter’s Alumni Video, which was shot specifically for the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, showcases a classy lady with a lot of ambition. Kim is the perfect example of working hard and getting it done with no excuses. She is now a labor law attorney and discusses how she worked, raised a family and graduated from law school.

Peter Blair – Solo Practitioner

Being a criminal defense attorney and a graduate of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law are the reasons why Peter Blair was chosen to be featured in the Alumni Video Series. Besides his day to day work as a defense attorney, he also does pro bono work for the military. My favorite line of Peter’s is “I feel like if they are going to go get shot at overseas, this is the least that I can do. I don’t have the guts to do that so that is my way of giving back to them.”

Barristers Ball

Take a trip back in time and glide through the crowd at the February 14, 2014 Thomas Jefferson School of Law Barristers Ball held on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier in San Diego, California.

This night is special because it is truly one of the only nights that students, staff, faculty and friends get to dress up and hang out. Awards are handed out but the true winners are the law school students who get to cut loose for the evening instead of hitting the books.

Shot with a Canon C100, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 DX-II, Glidecam HD4000 Stabilizer and Glidecam X-10 Dual Support Arm Stabilizer Vest System.

Party Rock

In February 11, 2012, Thomas Jefferson School of Law students shuffled through the halls and gathered faculty, staff and students along the way. This fun production was created specifically for Barristers Ball 2012 held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in Downtown San Diego, and showcased the night’s Master of Ceremonies, Ryan Ciriaco. Watch carefully and you will catch the Dean of the law school, Rudy Hasl, making a cameo appearance with his headphones and lip-synching the song’s signature line…Everyday I’m Shuffling.

Shot with a Canon 60D and Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8.

Let There Be Lights

This was shot on the 4th of July but the focus of the film is lights. Hopefully, the way I framed the shots gives you a unique perspective to truly appreciate the beauty of moving colors.

Filmed on America’s Independence Day in 2013 at the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar, California.

Precious Cora Lee Smith was born on November 29, 2013 and I was happy to create a video that captured this little girl’s first sound. With a little time to kill, my fiancée Denice and I picked up gifts at the gift shop and waited to be invited in. And it was well worth the wait because there is nothing better than being in a room with a baby who is only an hour old.

Stephanie and Parker Smith say they are grateful to have this video as a gift and I say I am grateful that they are two of my dearest friends.

Congratulations to mom and dad, Stephy and Parker!

It doesn't rain often in San Diego. But when it does, I cherish it.

This slow-paced video essay shows how the simple act of water falling from the sky can change your entire mood.

It’s amazing to watch droplets drop off the building and watch leaves floating down the stream. Sometimes, the simplest things are the most impactful.

Lunch at Bottega

Sometimes, all you need is a picturesque penne pasta and a cannoli.

Bottega Americano, located in the East Village of Downtown San Diego, is the perfect place to find exactly that and more. Their unique concept combines the classic taste and style of Italian cuisine with the innovation, energy and freshness of California to create a “classically new” dining experience for America. This video was shot while waiting at the European-style marketplace for my San Daniele Prosciutto panini to be pressed.

You Want Phở

Mmm...you’ve got to love Vietnamese comfort food especially on a cold, rainy afternoon. Yes, it does get cold and rainy in San Diego every once in a while. Watch as we take you to my favorite Pho restaurant near our home in Rancho Bernardo where we roll egg rolls in lettuce leaves and stir Sriracha into our Pho. If you are not hungry yet, you will be after watching this.

Harlem Shake - Law School Edition

Taking a break from the books and doing the Harlem Shake Internet meme is what these law students did in an effort to blow off some steam while studying for midterms. As I stood on a ladder to catch all of the action, each individual “actor” did their own thing. Be sure to check out Patty Ramert downstairs by the trash can. She is working it out!

Love Conquers All

Witnessing good friends get married is always a special day. Especially when Renee and Eric, and margaritas, are involved.
